Villa Red Chalet, Armação de Pêra,

Villa Red Chalet in the heart of Armação de Pêra, was built during the turn of the 20th century. The design was inspired by the opulent luxury of the Belle Époque era emerging in the South of France.  Originally known as the Chalet dos Caldas e Vasconcelos, this beautiful villa remained a family summer home for almost 80 years.

The Interior:

Villa Red Chalet is a beautiful 4-bedroom villa full of character. The villa is now also listed as a historical building and a famous landmark on the Armação de Pêra coastline.  During renovation, as many as possible, of the original elements were retained. These include a unique wooden floor, antique chandeliers, and also a spectacular staircase – all lovingly recreated. The Moorish influences of the architecture, with geometric designs on the shutters and ceilings, are all elegant reminders of the region’s rich cultural history.
The property is in two sections, the main house and also the White House.

Main House:

Bridging the gap between the comforts of the present and the romance of the past. The Villa has a large open kitchen which opens into a lounge and dining area with a large terracotta terrace and spectacular seafront setting. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a WC.

On the ceilings, sculpted grape vines are a reminder of those that once thrived in front of the villa itself.

The charming staircase leads to two ensuite bedrooms with king size beds and a sitting room where a terrace makes the most of the breath-taking views. A secret door leads to a further rooftop terrace that, many years ago, the owner built to hear the townsfolk sing songs dedicated to local fisherman at the church of “A Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes.”

White House:

A small guest house in front of the property reimagines some of the distinctive character of the main house in a more contemporary aesthetic.

It offers a duplex suite with a lounge and a terrace downstairs. On the 1st floor is an ensuite bedroom with a king size bed, a further self-contained studio that has a lounge, bedroom (queen size bed), shower room and balcony.

White-washed wooden floors and details in splashes of colour are recreated throughout the annex with a fresh, airy feel and a relaxed, effortless style, perfect for younger members of a family looking for their own space.

The Exterior:

The terrace is built into the seawall, giving the impression of a stay upon the ocean itself. Despite its central location and the comforts of contemporary luxury, the secluded villa offers an evocative escape. A chance to journey back to simpler times in an authentic alternative to the modern hotel experience. With direct access to the beach and the historical town centre, it promises all the traditions of the Algarve. From the doorstep there is the picturesque church square and the fantastic beach front restaurant below.

The Location:

The property has direct access to Armação de Pêra beach and the local town. With the beach, restaurants and entertainment in close proximity, all in all this is a fabulous location.
